Free WOD Timer for iPhone

The ad-free CrossFit timer for every WOD format — AMRAP, EMOM, For Time and Tabata

What is a WOD?

WOD stands for Workout of the Day — a term used in CrossFit to describe the daily programmed workout. Every WOD has a defined format that determines how it is scored, whether by time, rounds, or repetitions.

There are four main WOD formats, each requiring a different timer mode:

  • AMRAP — As Many Rounds As Possible within a set time cap. Scored by rounds completed.
  • For Time — Complete the prescribed work as fast as possible. Scored by elapsed time.
  • EMOM — Every Minute On the Minute. Perform reps at the start of each minute and rest for whatever time remains.
  • Tabata — 8 rounds of 20 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of rest.

A good WOD timer handles all of these formats without switching apps. Box Timer covers every format with its three built-in timer modes: count down, count up, and interval.

Why Box Timer for WODs?

  • All WOD formats in one app — AMRAP uses the countdown timer, For Time uses the count-up timer, and EMOM or Tabata use the interval timer. No separate apps needed.
  • Gym-style display — Large digital numbers with a glow effect, just like the clock on the wall at your box. Rotate to landscape for a full-screen view.
  • Loud audio cues — A long beep signals the start of each new round. Three short warning beeps fire during the final seconds of rest so you are ready to move.
  • Works with your music — Timer beeps mix with your workout playlist without pausing playback.
  • WOD history — Every completed WOD is saved automatically. Pin your most-used setups and reload them with one tap before your next session.
  • Free, no ads — No subscriptions, no premium tier, no pop-ups between rounds. Built by a CrossFitter, for CrossFitters.
